GOALS AND INITIATIVES:

|
|
|
|
|
|
1. Ensure residents and recent graduates have an active voice in
ACOEM at the earliest possible opportunity in their careers.
|
|
|
|
- Active development
of resolutions for submission to the ACOEM House of Delegates
|
|
|
|
- Involve all willing section members in the House of
Delegates, either directly or indirectly, to the greatest degree
possible
|
|
|
|
- Develop and maintain an active role for section members in
the drafting of ACOEM position statements
|
|
|
|
- Provide regular submissions from section members to the
ACOEM Report and ACPM Newsletter
|
|
|
|
- Continue to promote the Resident Research Presentation Award
and organize the Frontiers in Occupational and Environmental Medicine
session at AOHC
|
|
|
|
- Develop and sponsor new sessions for AOHC and SOTAC
and provide active generalized input that helps guide the theme of
sessions at these conferences
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
2. Ensure regular and active participation in relevant meetings
associated with residents, young physicians, and Occupational and
Environmental Medicine.
|
|
|
|
- Establish and maintain processes that allow for efficient
selection of section members to attend meetings; straightforward
registration and attendance at relevant meetings; and streamlined
funding of meeting attendance when funds are available.
|
|
|
|
- Ensure that the section is represented regularly at: AMA
Resident Physician Section Delegate Meeting, AMA Young Physician
Delegate Meeting, Preventive Medicine Forum, ACOEM House of Delegates
(ACOEM and SOTAC), and ACPM Resident Section Observer
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
3. Provide a source of networking and communication among OEM
residents and recent graduates
|
|
|
|
- Develop a web page linked from www.acoem.org that: provides
information on section and ACOEM membership, provides a discussion group
feature or list serve, provides information on associated meetings and
events, serves as a quarterly newsletter
|
|
|
|
- Maintain an up-to-date list of active section members
|
|
|
|
- Provide an entertaining and informative section meeting at
AOHC and SOTAC that is conveniently scheduled and located to maximize
attendance
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
